Datuk Seri Panglima Ahmad Fuad Md Ali, aged 71, is currently the Executive Chairman of FPSO Ventures Sendirian Berhad, an affiliate of Malaysia International Shipping Corporation Berhad (MISC) and a member of the National Economic Action Council (MTEN).
He has extensive experience in the fields of finance, accounting, auditing and consultancy. He started in 1978 with Hanafiah Raslan & Mohamad (HRM) (the then largest local accounting firm) and was made partner in 1984. HRM merged with Arthur Andersen in 1990.
In 1991, he headed the Audit and Business Advisory unit and in 1993, was appointed as Office Managing Partner, Kuala Lumpur. Throughout his time in the firm, he was involved in audit, accounting, secretarial, receivership and consulting services. He retired from Arthur Andersen in 1995.
In 1995, Datuk Seri Panglima Fuad was appointed Executive Chairman of Malaysian Plantations Berhad. During his tenure, he was involved in and managed various projects including finance-related businesses, stockbroking and construction/property development.
In 2003, he set up FPSO Ventures Sendirian Berhad, a joint venture with MISC, to manage, operate and maintain oil and gas Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) units and other activities related to the above business.
In 2007, he became a shareholder and was appointed as Deputy Chairman of Bumi Armada Berhad, which was then involved in ownership and operations of FPSOs / Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) units for the oil and gas sector. The company was listed on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange in July 2011. He left in 2013.
He also sits on the Board of various private companies.
He was previously a member of the Advisory Committee to the Finance Minister (ACFIN).
Datuk Seri Panglima Fuad is a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA). He is also a Chartered Accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
